We look forward to working with your family through the admission process.
We invite you to make an appointment for a personal tour so that you may learn more about Brookwood Christian.
Brookwood Christian School’s admission procedures ensure that each student is appropriate for one of our programs. Appropriate students will either have a true mild to moderate language based learning disability, or need a small group setting. Students who are not performing well in school due to emotional or behavior problems are not generally successful with our program. If you feel this is an appropriate school for your child, the following admission procedures should be followed:
- After you tour the school we will schedule a shadow day for your child.
- After the shadow day, fill out and submit the application.
- The submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance.

ABOUT OUR CURRICULUM
Our curriculum is specialized and tailored for students with language based learning disabilities. We are a full time school offering all subjects:
- We keep our class ratio to seven or less students to one teacher.
- We use research based curriculum and methods such as Wilson Reading and Moby Max programs for students with Dyslexia.
- We are fully accredited by Georgia Accrediting Commission for grades 1 – 12.
- We follow the Georgia Department of Education guidelines for College Prep and Tech Prep diplomas.

A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER AND PRINCIPAL, MRS. KIM
When my daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia, I had three degrees in education and 13 years experience. However, I had no idea how to help her learn to read.
She went from appointment to appointment day by day. Private school, a resource teacher, tutoring, vision therapy, and occupational therapy was going to cost $40,000 per year in 2002. I couldn’t afford that, and she couldn’t learn without it!
We started to homeschool in November of her second grade year. Within a week I was homeschooling five students around my kitchen table. To remind me of our beginnings, I now use that table as my desk at school.
In 2004 BCS opened with 18 students. I took out a personal loan for $50,000, hired help, and rented a room from a church. In 2007 we outgrew that space, bought the Wood Street property, and built our little red schoolhouse. We now have 80 students in first through twelfth grade and 13 teachers.
